Hi Liz,
With all due respect to whomever created said logo (I am an artist as well but not a graphic artist), it's not very professional... Does anyone know a true graphic artist that could create something a little more professional?
Thanks for listening, Kristi

As the person who created the logo (I am neither an artist, nor a graphic designer myself but based the logo idea off of another professional theater comany), thank you for your input. It's a step up from the original, practically non-existent logo and we have to live with it until a fantastic artist and graphic designer can do it for FREE because despite what people think, this is a non-dues paying theater that doesn't have a budget for a logo design and relies on the goodness of pro-bono work.
Thank you,
Liz Jamieson

Hey Liz, I am very very sorry if I offended you; I work 55+ hours a week, go to school, and had only a moment to comment; I should have taken the time to craft a better inquiry. I was in work mode, using my highly critical eye and delivering an unsolicited opinion in a blunt and forward manner.
Basically, I was admiring the new website, how professional everything looks now and noticed that the logo was very different from the rest of the content.
To that end, anything I could contribute as a fine artist (would love to), a drawing or painting, would look just as unprofessional (and by the by, IMHO all things good in life are very unprofessional, but I know what it takes to attract $, reviews, etc. in this industry and unfortunately it's less art and more smoke & mirrors).
Suggestions...
1. Using a plain font until a graphic artist can assist with creating something professional. This might be better than the handrawn look.
2. Finding a free font online (there are thousands) that mimics the effect you were going for on the B and slapping that one the erubians font as your logo/graphic.
3. I shouldn't nominate anyone, but I know Rob came up with a sweet logo for some of his personal stuff. If he has the time, I would be willing to direct our annual financial contribution towards paying him a small fee to do so.
Which leads me to another question... can we start getting a receipt for our donations? I ask because my company has 100% match for nonprofit donations.
Thanks for listening, Kristi

SWEET! I'm all about constructive suggestions and like your #2 on the list. I'm going to hand the project over to Morgan for now cause she has a better eye than I do. And also just a hint hint and Rob...dude...ya wanna try tackling something spiffy for us?
As for receipts, that is out of my jurisdiction. That's a Chris Berube thing. I'm just the web geek who also swings a hammer or uses a broom at the theater. So you might wanna personally talk to him about that.
No harm done. All is good in the world. Sorry if I also came off a bit harsh. That's what happens when ya cruise the board late at night after a 12 hour work day.
